Katie Holmes is one of the most media-hunted celebrities ever - no matter how hard she might try to hide her face from the paparazzi or to avoid going out of the house and into the paps-infested places, she still manages to hold all the headlines. For quite a while now, we've been hearing about how she is fed up with Tom/Jesus Cruise's Scientology, with her husband's controlling ways and with him constantly opposing her going back to work.
In fact, their entire relationship has been deemed by the media, from its very start, nothing but a sham. Sure, some media outlets even went out there completely, saying that Katie is nothing but a zombie, a woman who no longer has a mind of her own and who only does whatever Tom tells her to. Well, according to the latest reports, Katie got her mind back.
Jeannette Walls from 'The Scoop' on MSNBC reports that Katie is using the opportunity of shooting for 'Mad Money' in Louisiana to reconnect with her family and friends and to make amends to her parents, who opposed Tom Cruise and his religious beliefs from day one. Meghann Birie, one of Katie's childhood friends, tells the media she was called up by the actress and met to talk about the way things stand now with Tom. Apparently, Holmes wanted 'to talk to someone not in camp Cruise' about the possible ways of her getting back a part of her old life and friends that she abandoned the moment she agreed to move in with the movie superstar.
Another source adds more fuel to the fire, saying that the couple is going now through a very rough period in their lives and that they will turn to the Scientology Church for counseling. 'This is the biggest test of their relationship so far. It's been a tough last few months for them. Tom wants more kids as soon as possible. But as much as Katie loves being a mom, she's enjoying working again', the insider explained.
Dr. Stephen Kent also ventures an advised opinion as to the kind of 'help' Katie will get from Scientology: she will be put to a lie detector. 'Scientology does not accept any other form of marriage counseling. They believe that marriage problems are all a matter of a breakdown in communication and the way to improve a marriage is to undergo sessions with a Scientology counselor using an E-met. The E-meter is a form of a lie detector test that's supposed to register thought patterns', the doctor tells us.
Allegedly, Katie is too concerned about her marriage crumbling apart not to agree to this very special form of 'counseling'. If that be the case, then oops!, she's in real trouble!
