14 DAY TRIAL // In a brand new interview with Piers Morgan for ITV, Katie Price, until not long ago known solely as Jordan, reveals she suffered a miscarriage just weeks before Peter Andre decided to divorce her. She had the pregnancy terminated only six days before she ran the London Marathon, and it was, she says, probably the straw that broke the camel’s back in terms of the fate of her marriage, Daily Mail states.
Becoming pregnant again was a dream come true, Price tells Morgan. Although even then she and Peter argued quite a lot and to the point that it had become clear to both they were having serious issues, they wanted another child. Because of this, learning that the baby’s heart had stopped at around 10 weeks into the pregnancy was a real shock – and it undoubtedly turned out to play an important part in the demise of the marriage, Katie reveals. Furthermore, having to go through this while also fulfilling your social obligations, such as running the London Marathon, was all the more taxing and painful.
“I’d half thought it would be all right, you know, and I thought, you know: ‘I’ve, I’ve lost another baby,’ and it was just so confusing. Well, even though we were still bickering and I shouldn’t have gone to America, yeah we were happy because it’s a baby, it’s an amazing thing when you have a baby. Emotionally for any woman, whether you’re in the media or not, to have a baby died, run the marathon, which is also a big thing on your body, and then your husband wants a divorce, split up. That’s a lot for someone to take in.” Katie tells Morgan.
In the same interview, the star admits that she does, indeed, have a problem with alcohol of sorts. Far from being a heavy drinker, Price says that her problems with it stem from not being able to control herself after she has had a glass. As per her own words, she then turns into a “nightmare” and wants to take her clothes off and expose herself to the public in ways she wouldn’t if it wasn’t for the alcohol. She’s not an alcoholic, Price stresses, but she does have nights when she goes on binges – all of which have been heavily documented in the media.
With all this, the divorce was not her idea, the star insists. She has and will always love Peter, and she actually believed they would be together for the rest of their lives. “Well, we were so, I was so into him, so in love with him, I can, honestly it was love at first sight, I was so in love with him, like, it was driving me nuts. I fancied the pants off him, he was just my everything, my total everything. The best, best years that I’ve had with the guy ever. We experienced so much together. I really believed I would be with him forever… I was happy and I was in love and I thought I still would have been with him forever. I never, ever in a million years thought I’d divorce.” Katie Price says.
