14 DAY TRIAL // Even with seemingly everything going against her at one point, Katie Price, once known as the internationally famous glamour model Jordan, refused to stay out of the spotlight. She is not only a successful businesswoman, she’s also a television personality, mother of three and, in between, an ambitious fashion designer. As proof of this, Price has just unveiled her KP Equestrian line for kids in London, as reports in the British media can confirm.
Katie launched the first KP Equestrian collection back in December and, the other day, she was already up to introduce the world to her take on kiddie clothes. The entire line, as its name also suggests, has been heavily influenced and inspired by her love for horses and horse riding. What she tried to do different from other fashion designers out there, though, was to bring a sparkle and a dash of color into it.
“All you see is bland tweeds and browns – bland colors I wouldn’t wear.” Katie told the media at the launch. Thus, she came up with the idea for a colorful kiddie range that would have a double functionality, in the sense that it could be worn on a daily basis as well. “I thought ‘why not bring some color into it?’ You don’t have to be into horses to wear it. I know that Princess [her daughter] likes anything that sparkles. I just thought, for the girls, I will do it glitzy.” the former model added.
Consequently, Katie’s latest KP Equestrian line for girls is dominated by shades of pink, light blues and lime greens. The only contrasting note at the launch was Price herself, who opted for a velour ensemble in dark blue, so tiny that it looked as if it had been made for the little girls on the catwalk, it has been noted. The model accessorized the short shorts and unzipped top with spotted knee-high socks and metallic pumps, and did her best to pose for the cameras like in her days of yore, so as to attract as much publicity onto the event as possible.
Katie Price, it is known, is a confessed lover of horses, her business endeavors also including a book on the subject and another fashion line.
