14 DAY TRIAL // Just the other day, Katie Price’s boyfriend as of July this year, cage fighter Alex Reid, was telling British paparazzi at the airport that he was traveling to Australia to propose to Price. He was convinced that she would say yes, so one can only imagine how he must have felt when she dumped him in front of the cameras, as the BBC can also confirm.
As Reid arrived in Australia, Price had just left the jungle where the last season of “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me out of Here” is currently shooting, after deciding that she had had enough of the trials she was constantly put to. The cage fighter boyfriend probably imagined that he would give her a wonderful surprise with the proposal and was reportedly stunned to hear that, all the while, Price could only think of ex Peter Andre and had therefore decided to call it off with him.
“It was so, so tough... I wanted closure. All these good memories – but all those memories have now gone. I found it emotionally very hard. The whole place reminded me of Pete from the moment I woke up,” Price told presenters Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. As for Reid, he’s out of the picture for good. “It’s best that I’m on my own. I don’t want a relationship... I’m not with him [Reid], no,” she continued, as cited by the BBC.
Reports in the British media also say that Price made it a point of breaking up with Reid in front of the cameras, as producers for the show were taping the final segments with her, before her return to the UK. At first, the boyfriend could not believe what he was hearing and then became extremely upset, it is being said. As of now, Reid is still in somewhat of a shock at having been dumped in both such a cold-hearted and public manner.
As he should be, some say, given that he had traveled all the way there to propose. “I’m definitely asking her to marry me and I’m convinced she’s going to say YES. I might pop the question on TV. One idea is I make the proposal in front of cameras on the show. But whatever happens I know this is right. I’ve never felt this way before. I’m convinced Katie’s going to feel the same way. I know what we’re like when we’re together,” he was saying the other day, as he was boarding a plane to Australia.
