Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise settled in the divorce proceedings shortly after she filed the official papers. The terms of the agreement won't be revealed to the press, but some details on it have already leaked online.

Of course, we can't vouch for their accuracy.

Katie reportedly blindsided Tom by filing 11 days ago, citing irreconcilable differences. She also asked for and got full physical custody of their 6-year-old daughter, Suri.

Officially, that's all that is known about the settlement.

“There are numerous inaccuracies in the reports regarding the purported contents of the agreement reached between the parties. The agreement is confidential and its terms will not be disclosed,” an attorney for Holmes said the other day, shooting down reports that she asked to be accompanied by bodyguards whenever she visited Tom to drop off Suri.

Even so, TMZ reports that one thing that was intensely discussed during the few days of negotiations, prior to the settlement, was Scientology and what part it should play in Suri's life.

Considering that there are countless reports saying Katie was pushed over the edge and decided to divorce Tom because he wanted to turn Suri into a little Scientologist, it wouldn't be a wonder if she actually took steps to shield her from the cult.

“The custodial provisions of the agreement are extremely detailed, and religion is one of the topics. We’re told there are restrictions on what Tom and Katie can discuss with Suri on the subject of religion, including Scientology, however, those restrictions are eased the older Suri gets,” TMZ reports.

“In short, we’re told the agreement is extremely detailed and outlines a course of conduct for years to come,” adds the same media outlet.

That religion had something to do with the divorce, if only to the extent that it was constantly being brought up by the media, was also obvious from the joint statement the two released after the case was settled.

“We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents,” it said (emphasis ours).
