14 DAY TRIAL // Katie Holmes is always in the tabloids but, for someone who generates this kind of media attention, she hardly ever speaks out about her personal life. Her brand new interview with Allure magazine is the exception.
Nevertheless, if we’re to be completely honest, here too she does her best to keep the discussion away from certain topics, her marriage to Tom Cruise being one of them.
On the bright side, even if she doesn’t say much, which might frustrate some of her fans, Katie looks absolutely amazing in the accompanying spread: some shots are really gorgeous close-ups of her at the beach, oiled up and sandy.
Others are more high fashion, but just as stunning. It’s definitely the boldest shoot she’s done in years and, if one is to be completely honest, especially during her marriage to Tom.
Speaking of her plans for the future, Katie tries to steer the conversation towards more comfortable ground.
“I hope this is a peaceful year for a lot of people in the world. When you look back on the last year, there were a lot of tragedies — Hurricane Sandy, the Connecticut shooting. I… I just hope it’s a good year for everyone,” she says.
Asked if that includes her too, she smiles and breathes, “A lot of people have gone through a lot of stuff.”
She also admits she’s open to the idea of having more kids, talks about her canceled Broadway play, growing up wanting to be a supermodel, her daughter Suri and what a little fashionista she already is, and a certain rumor saying she was thinking of quitting acting to become an attorney.
“Well, my brother and father are attorneys, and — we’ll see. I like the practical thinking of attorneys,” she says, neither confirming nor denying the report.
