14 DAY TRIAL // Katie Holmes is coming out of a messy divorce with Tom Cruise and is looking for consolation in the arms of Jamie Foxx. The two were spotted spending time together in New York during the Super Bowl weekend.
Page Six reports that Holmes and Foxx have actually been seeing a lot of each other for the past couple of months, but have managed to maintain their love interest a secret from the media. 46-year-old Jamie first fell for Katie, 35, last summer and has been seeing her in secret at his mansion in California.
Sources close to the new couple say that they are insisting on all this secrecy out of respect for actor Tom Cruise, Katie's ex-husband and the father of her daughter, Suri.
One such source said that “Katie flew private to California to stay with Jamie at his home around the Grammys. But he and Holmes also spent time together during Super Bowl weekend, although they attended the game separately.”
Foxx is actually a close friend of Tom's, after they starred in the film “Collateral” together in 2004. “Jamie is being careful because he has a lot of respect for Tom,” the same source says.
This isn't the first time dating rumors circle Foxx and Holmes. They were also rumored to be together after they were spotted dancing together at a charity event in the Hamptons last August. Since then, both actors have vehemently denied any involvement with one another.
At the time, Foxx is quoted as saying ““[The rumors] are 100 percent not true. In fact, it’s quite hilarious because we simply danced at a charity event along with a lot of other people. I had Colin Powell onstage dancing [too], so they could have said me and Colin Powell were dating.”
Holmes' representative has denied the rumors, saying that her recent trip to California was a business meeting with a director about a new film, and Foxx's camp denied to comment on the issue altogether.
