The other day, actress Katie Holmes was photographed out shopping, sporting what looked like a baby bump. She is, in fact, pregnant with her second child, OK! Magazine claims in its latest print issue.

As the photo attached to this article confirms, OK! is going out there with the bold claim that Holmes and husband Tom Cruise are about to add another member to their family later this year.

“Katie: It’s official! Yes, I’m pregnant!” reads a huge caption on the cover of this week’s issue of the celebrity mag.

Reading what’s next offers the first indication that there really isn’t anything “official” about the pregnancy.

“A telltale bump, prenatal vitamins – now she tells friends: Suri will finally be a big sister!” OK! writes on the cover.

Inside the pages of the magazine, there’s even more indication that Katie is not really pregnant, with the cover story speaking mostly of her and Tom’s desire to have a baby, how they’re hoping for a baby boy and what they may name him.

There’s also a bit about the “rules” any member of the Church of Scientology must obey when pregnant (excerpts via here).

For starters, once the woman finds out she’s pregnant, she must practice abstinence until she gives birth, presumably because she must not “taint” the child in any way.

“The mother’s body is a pure vessel for the soul to come through. The baby’s soul must inhabit its pre-birth body with the clear intention that it wants to be born,” a Scientology insider says for OK!.

“Some Scientologists choose to follow an intense detox program to cleanse the body. The woman is required to run on a treadmill every day and have frequent sauna sessions to sweat profusely,” the mag writes.

“She also takes ‘vitamin bombs’ containing mega doses of niacin, calcium, magnesium and other vitamins; and she has regular colonics, says the source,” says OK!.

Just recently, Katie Holmes sued and settled with Star magazine for printing a story about her being “addicted” to Scientology treatments and some unspecified drugs.

Before OK! even printed this week’s issue, Holmes’ rep told E! News, “She’s not pregnant and this photo looks doctored.”
