Katie Holmes Gets to Keep “Millions of Jewelry and Accessories” in Divorce

Katie Holmes is now officially a free woman, her divorce from Tom Cruise becoming finalized last week. Though she gets no alimony and “only” $33,000 (€26,338.8) a month for daughter Suri, Katie walks away from the marriage a rich woman.

The latest report in Radar Online claims that, because of an “ironclad” prenuptial contract, Katie would have none of Tom Cruise's hard-earned money, but that's not to say she leaves the marriage empty-handed either.

In fact, she gets to keep the millions of dollars in jewelry, designer bags and other luxury items she got from Tom during their marriage, sources close to the former A-list couple say for the tab.

“Tom was extremely generous to Katie with lavish gifts during their marriage and she will be keeping millions of dollars of jewelry, Hermes handbags and other luxurious items,” the insider explains.

“Tom gave Katie diamond earrings as a birthday gift one year that easily cost over $500k [€399,138] and he had custom design pieces made for her. Under terms of the divorce, Katie is keeping all of the jewelry, handbags, accessories, and designer clothing,” the source further notes.

“What she does with it is up to her. For the time being, the jewels are being kept in a very safe place and knowing Katie, it’s likely she will one day give them to Suri once she is old enough,” adds the spy.

Tom's gesture is all the more impressive because it comes unsolicited: Katie was never after his money and did not even dare to hope she would get to keep all these amazing – and very expensive – items.

“Katie was never with Tom for the money. When it came time for the divorce, she just wanted it to be done quickly and with as little disruption to Suri’s life as possible,” the insider says.

Speaking of Suri, by the terms of the divorce agreement, she will be provided for well into adulthood.

Tom has agreed to pay $33,000 (€26,338.8) a month to Katie for Suri's support, as well as her school and medical bills, including college.

Katie will not get alimony but, according to reports, she didn't even ask for it.
