Vogue Spain did the unthinkable: it presented Katie Holmes with the challenge of going against her image by doing a very naughty-looking photospread for the August 2011 issue. She said yes. The magazine is now out on newsstands. “The New Katie” is how the magazine introduces the actress, who is now getting ready to promote the thriller “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” which is coming out in theaters in a few weeks’ time.
“We asked the actress to do an ultra-hot shooting, and she took us up on the challenge,” the magazine writes about the idea that got so many people talking about Holmes’ makeover.
“We present to you Mrs. Cruise as you have never seen her,” one page of the magazine further says, adding that this is Katie at her “wildest.”
Indeed, dressed up in leather, lace, with heavy makeup and dark nail polish, and rocking a leather cap, this is Katie Holmes as her fans have never seen her – so it’s no wonder the spread is getting so much attention from the international media.
Excerpts from the interview are not yet available; nevertheless, Katie is expected to touch on the same topics as before: her career, family life and making it work.
In a previous interview with InStyle, the actress made the startling revelation that she didn’t want another child, thus effectively putting an end to rumors that she and husband Tom Cruise were preparing for baby number 2.
“We already have a very big family; a full household with cousins who are over a lot, and [Suri] has her friends. My biggest thing is making sure she’s fully taken care of and doing well,” Holmes said, as we also
informed you at the time.
Also then, she spoke about the challenges of being married to another actor, who also happens to be a busy A-lister who has to travel the world working on various projects.
It’s not always easy, but they somehow manage.
“In our family we have a policy: we make it work. We Skype, and we try not to go for a week without seeing each other. We’re also very good at setting up camp wherever we go,” Katie said.
