Apparently coming to confirm reports that Katie Holmes divorced Tom Cruise because he was adamant Suri was raised a Scientologist, the actress has enrolled her 6-year-old daughter to a prestigious Catholic school, it has emerged.

As it must be common knowledge by now, Holmes filed for divorce in New York City, where she and Suri will reside, after she was awarded primary physical custody in divorce negotiations.

In return, Tom will get “generous” visitation rights. Word online also has it that Katie made sure that, during negotiations, she got him to agree to leave Suri out of Scientology for at least another few years.

“Katie Holmes, 33, has reportedly enrolled her daughter, 6, in Manhattan’s prestigious Convent of the Sacred Heart. The school’s notable alumnae list includes Lady Gaga, 26, Jordana Brewster, 32, Nicky Hilton, 28, Caroline Kennedy, 54, and the late Gloria Morgan Vanderbilt,” Us Weekly reports.

“When classes begin, the previously homeschooled Suri will be required to attend Catholic mass every Thursday. Tuition at Convent of the Sacred Heart costs $38,000 [€30,932] a year,” the same media outlet notes.

Katie and Suri will be living in a Manhattan apartment she rented just weeks before filing for divorce and blindsiding Tom.

Because of this, it is believed Katie's “escape” had been planned well in advance, with the mother of one making sure she covered all the exits before she made a run – out of Tom's life and of Scientology's reach.

Speaking of which, while speculation on the Church's involvement in the divorce continues to make the rounds, Cruise's attorney tells People magazine that Scientology had nothing to do with it.

“Somebody said the Scientologists were directing the negotiations, and that is absolute hogwash. There was no Scientologist present, I wasn’t on the phone with Scientologists,” Bert Fields explains.

“Scientologists played no part of role in the negotiations between the lawyers. [We] dealt rationally with the issues, hashed them all out and over a few days worked something out that was to the satisfaction of both sides,” Fields continues.

Obviously, there was at least one Scientologist present at negotiations.
