Katie Holmes refused recently to play Andy Warhol protege in a new project, at Tom Cruise' s advices, who believes Katie shouldn't play weak characters. Katie, 26, was supposed to star in "Factory Girl" as drug-addict Edie Sedgwick, a '60s icon and one of Andy Warhol's muses, according to the New York Post. But it appears Tom believes it would be bad for her image to play such roles. Also, Cruise doesn't believe in anti-depression drugs because of his belief in Scientology. A source said: "Edie was in and out of mental institutions and on all sorts of psychotropic drugs. Tom doesn't believe in those drugs because of his belief in Scientology." Another source said: "Tom didn't want her to take the role because it portrayed her as a victim and he said she should only take strong roles." Katie Holmes' s spokespeople declared that "Katie is not attached to that project."
