Katie Couric’s new talk show, Katie, is now at its second season, but it’s not doing too great in the ratings. In fact, it’s apparently failing to reach a wider audience because people are already talking about a cancelation.

If that should happen after season 2, Katie will most likely move to The View, where she’ll replace Barbara Walters, insiders say for the New York Daily News.

“[Network executives] realize it will never be a success and ratings are down drastically from last season. The ABC development team has been working nonstop on new talk show pilots and are looking at high-profile names to replace her, hopefully by January,” an insider says.

“Katie may ultimately replace Barbara when she retires,” adds the source.

A new face has already appeared on the panel on The View, as former Playboy bunny Jenny McCarthy came in to replace Joy Behar.

Barbara will also be leaving soon but no replacement has been announced yet.
