Katherine Heigl was once the hottest actress on TV, thanks to her role in the critically acclaimed, fan-favorite medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy.” Then, she decided to speak against the show that had launched her and to pursue a career in film – and her career is yet to recover from it.

Perhaps worse than the fact that Katherine tried to become a movie star by turning her back completely on everything else she’d done until then was the fact that she was also renouncing it, annulling it by speaking against it.

Not even showbiz tolerates ungrateful behavior, so when she spoke against “Grey’s” and the people who were still part of the project, she got blackballed. Rumors that she was an insufferable diva also emerged at about that time.

She’s not rude, she’s “drawing boundaries”

Katherine is now back on TV, after a self-imposed hiatus following her failed career as a movie star. Don’t get us wrong, there was a time when it seemed like the go-to actress for successful rom-coms was Katherine, but that didn’t last long. By the time she decided to step out of the spotlight for a while, her movies were deemed bona-fide, resounding flops.

Today, Heigl is back on NBC with “The State of Affairs,” but the rumors that she’s still a diva persist, with countless insiders telling the tabs that she’s learned nothing from her first “fall from grace,” which would eventually lead to her complete ruin as an actress.

One of the most circulated rumors is that she is rude: not just not-saying-thank-you-type of rude, but the kind that makes impossible demands and who expects people to act a certain way around her just because she is Katherine Heigl.

Asked on Facebook about these rumors, Katherine told a fan over the weekend that her outspokenness was often mistaken for rudeness, Us Weekly reports. But there’s a clear line between one or the other, and she’s very careful about never crossing it.

“Of course just like any human being I've made mistakes and unwittingly or carelessly spoken or acted but I always try to make any wrong right. That doesn't mean I won't stand up for myself by drawing boundaries and asking to be treated kindly and respectfully but I don't do that with any rude or unkind intentions just with the same strength and honesty I think every one of us is entitled to,” Katherine says.

Hollywood “betrayed” her

Heigl is still trying to recover from this summer’s round of bad press, which came after she said in a magazine interview that her self-imposed hiatus was the result of her feelings of anger and frustration after Hollywood “betrayed” her.

Apparently, Heigl didn’t consider the trajectory of her career her doing, and even blamed studios who kept offering her rom-coms for the way things went from bad to worse, because she simply couldn’t say no to this type of movies.

At the same time, by doing only rom-coms, she stopped challenging herself and set into a routine that dulled her creative senses to the maximum. She was shocked and “surprised” that Hollywood would turn on her for doing something that was, in the end, not her choice.

You see, because she couldn’t say no to rom-coms and studios kept casting her in them, it was not her fault that she was playing the same character over and over again, until the world got tired of her.
