Kate Winslet has tied the knot for the third time. The Oscar-winning actress and boyfriend Ned Rocknroll, whom she started dating sometime in the fall of 2011, were married this month in New York.

Us Weekly was the first to break the news, citing an unnamed insider close to the couple.

Kate and Ned reportedly got married “in early December in New York.” “They were surrounded by a small group of friends and close family members,” the insider added.

Proof that there’s truth to rumors (every once in a while), shortly after this got out in the press, a publicist for Kate confirmed the news: she is married.

“I can confirm that Kate Winslet married Ned Rock'nRoll in NY earlier this month in a private ceremony attended by her two children and a very few friends and family. The couple had been engaged since the summer,” the publicist says.

This is Kate’s third marriage: she was also married to Jim Threapleton (1998-2001) and Sam Mendes (2003-2010).

Ned is the nephew of Virgin billionaire Richard Branson, who is one of Kate’s best friends. They reportedly fell in love during a vacation spent together at Branson’s mansion, when the star was still seeing model beau Louis Dowler.

At least, that’s what he told the press after the nasty split: that she practically cheated on him with Ned, and dumped him shortly afterwards.

According to British tab the Daily Mail, it was good pal Leonardo DiCaprio who gave her away at the ceremony.

Ever since they starred together in the critical and commercial hit “Titanic,” Kate and Leo have remained very close friends.

In fact, they’ve always been so close that, right after the split from Mendes, several tabloid reports tried to make a romance between the two happen. It was just rumors, of course.
