The animal rights activists working with PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) recently went ballistic when hearing the news that Harper's Bazaar is to show some pictures of Kate Upton playing nurse to several endangered animals.

Apparently, Harper's Bazaar's The Animal Nursery angered PETA so much that the latter felt the need to address the media and voice their complaints.

As per usual, what bothered these animal rights activists was the fact that defenseless animals were used as props without anyone's ever taking the time to wonder whether or not their being made to sit through an entire photo shoot would harm the baby tiger, the baby lion, and the baby gibbon.

“The gibbon featured in the photographs is an infant and should be with his mother at all times. Besides the emotional trauma that he has undoubtedly suffered as a result of the separation, his delicate immune system is still developing, and he is susceptible to illnesses that humans carry.”

“All the animals in the photographs are endangered and should be protected, rather than being treated like props,” PETA reportedly told members of the press.

The animals were provided by the Miami-based Zoological Wildlife Foundation.
