After being booted from Dancing With the Stars following a series of rather disastrous performances, Kate Gosselin went
back home to her 8 kids and started preparing for the launch of her two new television shows. Both have been announced for this summer by TLC, the same network that also carried the reality show that put Mrs. Gosselin on the map, “Jon & Kate Plus 8.” Now, “Kate Plus 8” has an official release date, as
Hollywood News can confirm.
When Jon and Kate went public with their divorce, questions began to circulate as to what will happen to their ever-popular show and whether either of the spouses would move to block its production. That person proved to be Jon who, claiming TLC was exploiting his children, barred cameras from continuing to shoot them for what was meant to be a spinoff of sorts, “Kate Plus 8.” All legal disputes in the past now, the network can finally move on with the intended reality show.
“Kate Gosselin has been busy taking care of her kids now that she’s been voted off Dancing With the Stars. However, this isn’t stopping her from returning for one last dance on the Dancing With the Stars finale. The TLC star is continuing work on her shows to support the kids and her new reality show, “Kate Plus 8″ will premiere on Sunday, June 6th at 9 p.m. The new show follows Kate and her eight kids on their new adventures as they grow older. The first episode covers the sextuplets’ 6th birthday as they celebrate a pool party that Kate throws for them, reports Just Jared,” Hollywood News says.
Moreover, this is not the only show centering on Kate, aside from a planned comeback to the dance ring on the DWTS finale. TLC is also producing and will air “Twist of Kate,” which will include the eight children only occasionally, since it will deal mostly with Kate’s life post-divorce and her pursuing her career. At the same time, she’ll also be helping other people who might find themselves in situations similar to those she experienced firsthand, by offering them advice.
“In Twist of Kate, Gosselin will use fan letters from women inspired by her story as the basis for profiles of women facing their own challenges. Twelve episodes will start airing in late summer,” USA Today informed a while back, as we
also reported. “I look at it as a loose concept. I want to be out there learning from others, helping to provide insight whenever I can, though I don’t consider myself an expert on anything,” Kate said at the time.
