Kate Moss and Transgender Model Lea T Lock Lips for LOVE

The upcoming issue of LOVE magazine, the aptly titled the Androgyny Issue comes with a cover that is bound to get people talking, featuring British supermodel Kate Moss sharing a passionate kiss with transgender model Lea T.

Lea, born Leandro Cerezo, was discovered by Givenchy’s creative director Riccardo Tisci, and shot to international fame after she was featured in several campaigns for the fashion house.

Now that she’s getting ready for surgery and she’s riding the wave, it’s time to draw attention to some important issues, like how beauty should know no limitations – and this is precisely what the LOVE issue is all about.

Still, it’s bound to stir up some controversy, as My Fashion Life also points out, especially because of the obvious reversal of roles of the two women on the cover.

“During her 23-year-long career in modeling, Kate Moss has found herself in various precarious situations in the name of fashion, but none, we suspect, quite like smooching a transgender model – but courtesy of LOVE magazine, that’s exactly what she’s doing… on the cover,” MFL writes.

“Styled with a faux undercut, wet look hair and minimal make-up, it seems Kate it letting her boyish looks shine through, too, but none can compare to the transgender genes of Lea T, who makes mixing up the boundaries of boys and girls look so easy,” the e-zine further says.

This cover is just an alternative one, since LOVE will also be putting out one with Justin Bieber. In fact, the entire Androgyny Issue was inspired by The Biebs and the online trend of women looking like him.

Speaking of Lea T, Katie Grand, who styled the shoot for LOVE, says the first time she saw her, she was positively awestruck by how gorgeous she was.

“I was by the pool at the Copacabana Palace Hotel when I saw her. At first I didn’t notice her gender, just that she was wearing Givenchy couture and looked amazing!” Grand says.

The LOVE cover was shot by famed photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. The issue is out on newsstands in about a month.
