Fashion company Burberry is said to have decided to cancel a planned advertising campaign with Kate Moss, due to allegations of
drug taking by the supermodel.
After H&M and Burberry, Chanel might be the third firm to ditch the 31-year-old since the photos of her apparently snorting cocaine were published by a British newspaper.
"Kate has always been a fantastic model and highly professional for Burberry. We are saddened by her current circumstances and hope she overcomes her problems as soon as possible. We wish Kate all the best.", the official statement issued by Burbery said.
French perfume house Chanel won't hire Moss again after her contract expires. Moss was supposed to be the face of their Coco Madamemoiselle perfume.
Meanwhile, the Rimmel contract apparently had another 3 years on it so it would be harder for them to let her go than to just not renew it.
A spokesperson said: "Chanel currently has an advertising campaign with Kate Moss that is due to finish at the end of October. The company has no plans to work with Kate Moss on advertising campaigns in the near future."
Kate Moss is currently investigated by Scotland Yard on the cocaine-taking claims.
The famous model has issued public apologies to H&M and promised her family she will be undergoing a rehabilitation program.
