I mean it. Something has happened. I am really starting to panic now - and I want to know the truth, it doesn't matter how serious and shocking it is. Where is Doherty? I mean, there are all sorts of interesting things going on in Kate Moss' life and not a sign of Britain's favorite drugged-out rocker - and I mean, nothing. Not even an arrest, not even a small, private drug and alcohol binge, no sex with Amy Winehouse and no crack kittens in the news.
Has he finally decided to clean up his act, or did he take his friends' advice literally and has vanished from the face of the Earth? Whatever it is, I am becoming officially concerned - all the more so as "Delivery", Babyshambles' first single from their highly anticipated next album, is out this week. There is a chance however that the Doherty disappearance is down to something as common and as trivial as a broken heart. And if he's been watching the media for news of his ex-girlfriend Kate Moss, I'm quite sure he's not a happy camper.
Moss, it seems, really likes her new man, Jamie Hince. Recently, he joined Kate and a group of her friends including Kelly Osbourne on a weekend outing at Kate's 10-bedroom farmhouse in Cotswold, where he got to know his girlfriend's closest buddies while also enjoying some quality time with her. But the trouble is, Kate is known to have commented to several of her friends that Jamie, who's in rock band The Kills, reminds her quite a lot of Doherty, which she is said to find "quietly comforting" - although sometimes she admits it "drives her nuts".
One of the model's friends revealed that "Kate says Jamie has little traits and characteristics that remind her of Pete". You hear that, Pete honey? She's still thinking about you - come out from wherever you are and show us your beautiful face (joke). "She [Kate] always goes for the same sort of men - dangerous and seemingly unavailable, but with a good heart underneath", her friend added.
Dangerous, yes, but I'm sure Kate's pal overlooked her relationship with the Babyshambles' frontman, seeing how Doherty's good heart (if it was ever the case) has been taken over by his substance abuse and is probably what made him stone his cat, too. I always claimed he was all about the loving. The fact is, Kate is moving on. Good for her - I hope this means she's once again a smart lady - but I won't have it at the price of Doherty turning into a good guy on us all. I mean, that would definitely be the end of the world. Really.
