Kate Middleton has managed to stay out of the news this week, but not any longer, because a new report from insiders close to the Royal family claims that the Duchess will be giving birth to twin girls the second time around.

If the first time Kate gave birth to the lovely Prince George, who is already one year old and the pride and joy of Buckingham Palace, this second pregnancy is said to bring not one, but two girls into the royal family.

Ultrasound confirms that Kate is pregnant with twins

The report comes from Celebdirtylaundry which quotes several reports from people connected to the royals. These “palace sources” claim that when the Duchess went in for a checkup, the ultrasound detected two heartbeats, which can only mean one thing – twins.

And since previous reports gave as certain the fact that Kate was going to give birth to a girl this time, it's looking like Prince William will be the proud daddy of two twin girls after Prince George. The palace sources are convinced that the Duchess is going to give birth to twins, but they can't be sure about the gender, since it's still rather early in the pregnancy.

The twin girl talk has brought up a whole new kettle of fish – the issue with the girls' names. Naturally, the names will have to be regal-sounding, and many have already suggested that at least one of the girls might get Queen Elizabeth's name as a sign of respect. Another girl name being floated around is Diana, in honor of the dead Princess, William's mother.

Queen Elizabeth wants to name the girls after her and her late sister

Insiders have some information about this aspect too, and they reveal that Queen Elizabeth, upon hearing that she will have twin girls as great-granddaughters, she requested that they be named “Elizabeth” and “Margaret,” after her and her late sister, who died more than a decade ago.

It remains to be seen if Kate and Will are going to conform to the Queen's request or if they are going to take it upon themselves as parents to choose the name for their children.

In the meantime, Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is still said to be struggling to cope with her extreme morning sickness, something which plagued her also during her first pregnancy and which is so bad that she's had to cancel a few public appearances while she's being constantly monitored by a pair of physicians.
