US tabloids claims Kate Middleton’s weight will cause problems if she wants to conceive

Now that Kate Middleton and Prince William’s tour of the US is over, tabloids are free (or, to be more precise, freer than before) to discuss about her weight loss and whether she’s healthy enough to carry a child.

Several of the US glossies have stories in the latest issue of Kate’s drastic weight loss and how she may want to gain a few pounds before she and William decide to start trying for a baby (story via here).

During the couple’s tour of the US, Kate impressed not only with her impeccable, elegant style, but also with her tiny waist and slender frame.

So slender, in fact, that “experts” whom she never met and who don’t even know her medical history believe she may have a serious problem if she wants to conceive right now.

“Kate Middleton has ‘gone from fit and toned to gaunt and bony.’ People are worried she is anorexic, and it’s a ‘horrifying’ situation,” Star writes.

There’s no denying that Kate has lost a lot of weight since reportedly going on a diet of watercress soup and blueberries before the wedding, but that’d by no means an indication that she won’t be able to have a child if she desires.

Even so, experts point out that she’s underweight and should go off the diet in order to gain a few pounds.

“Kate looks to weigh from 95 to 100 lbs. That makes her seriously underweight for her height,” Dr. Fred Pescatore says.

To InTouch Weekly, the same Pescatore says Kate needs to gain at least 40-45 pounds if she wants to get pregnant soon, which is the plan.

“If she wants to get pregnant, good luck with no body fat on her,” underlines the expert.

Back to Star, the tab claims that Kate and William want to get pregnant by the end of the year and that there’s even some pressure from the Royal Family for her to provide an heir.

“One friend tells Star that ‘when the conversation turns to babies, [William] gives her a knowing look while she smiles back.’ But at 5’8, doctors say Kate, 29, is ‘dangerously underweight,’ and in no shape to have a baby right now,” the tab writes.

After the US visit, a spokesperson confirmed that there would be no public appearances from Kate and William in the immediate future in their official capacity, because they just want to enjoy married life for a while.
