14 DAY TRIAL // Heidi Agan, a former waitress who now earns a living as a Kate Middleton impersonator, has decided to step up her game and stay true to the public figure she’s impersonating, by making herself look pregnant as well with prosthetic baby bumps.
She’s already bought various sizes of prosthetic bumps, telling BBC in a new interview that it’s only fair to go up in size as the Duchess of Cambridge, now pregnant with her first child, also does.
“As Kate grows I will too – to be authentic I thought it was important,” Agan reveals.
“It's difficult at the moment as she's not big enough yet to change her entire wardrobe so it's difficult to see how she's' going to dress it,” she continues.
Agan also explains that she’d never imagined she’d be an impersonator full time but she’s happy she’s this lucky to actually can.
The 32-year-old single mother quit her job as a waitress to pursue this career, and is now traveling all over the UK charging as much as £650 ($991 / €760) for one single appearance.
“To have done 12 years of something you know and then to leap into an industry that gives with one hand and takes with another is difficult, but I'm just really happy and feel blessed that I did,” she says.
“You just have to pinch yourself as I can't believe it's happened,” continues.
Not only is she making more money than ever to provide for her family, but she also gets to spend more time with them than she did when she worked a full-time job at the restaurant.
As for how much she spends to replicate Kate’s style, Agan says it’s not nearly that much, all things considered.
“The most expensive shoes I've bought as Kate were about £200 [$304.9 / €233.8], the dress was about £300 [$457.4 / €350.8] – which I don't think is that bad considering her original evening wedding dress by Alexander McQueen would have cost tens of thousands of pounds,” she says.
“I have to get the clothes, the mannerisms, the way she stands and interacts with William right. Things like that are all very important if I want to be the best,” Agan adds.
