The new royal pregnancy is the big news today, but this is precisely what Kate Middleton and Prince William tried to avoid all this time. They were so paranoid about the news getting out that it's reported they even kept it a secret from their own families.

The celebrity site Us Weekly reports that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went to great lengths to keep their second pregnancy a secret for as long as possible. Even their own families found out about the second baby this past weekend, and then it was released in the press.

Not even the Queen knew until last week

“William and Kate told their parents the news this weekend,” an insider reveals, adding that Prince Charles, Camilla Parker and Carole and Michael Middleton were all brought in and let in on the big news.

Of course, after the parents were notified, the couple went to Buckingham Palace to announce the happy news to the matriarch of the family, Queen Elizabeth II. This happened on the day before Kensington Palace released the news of the pregnancy to the world.

The insider reveals that “The Queen and Prince Phillip were given the good news on Sunday morning. Everyone is delighted.” Everyone except Kate, of course. The Duchess has just announced she was having a baby and reports of her extreme morning sickness have emerged.

Kate's pregnancy threatened by the same extreme bouts of morning sickness

Several sources have confirmed that Kate is suffering from the same debilitating bouts of extreme morning sickness that she had when pregnant with Prince George, but that it was an assumed risk she took when she agreed on another baby.

The condition is called hyperemesis gravidarium and it's believed to have already caused the Duchess to miss out a planned royal engagement on Monday, September 8 at St. Hugh's College. It is this condition that is going to make Kate's moving to Anmer Hall a permanent one, by the looks of things.

The reason for that is because the country home is believed to be generally a better option for the pregnant mother. It will give her much needed privacy, as well as the space to go for walks in the woods and breathe that fresh country air which is said to be very beneficial to her.

All bets are on for the baby's gender and name in Britain

The Britons are very excited about this new pregnancy and they’re already laying down serious money on bets. The most popular things to bet on at the moment are the gender of the second royal baby and what his/her name is going to be. Betting parlors are accepting all options at this point in time.
