Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, is currently fighting a French tabloid and paparazzi after they took and published topless photos of her on vacation. As it happens, says Donald Trump, she has no one to blame but herself for all that.

As we also informed you at the time, the scandal broke when Closer announced it would run a series of vacation photos of the Duchess, in which she was sunbathing without a top.

The photos were taken while she and Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, were holidaying at a French castle situated at a considerable distance from any public road, so whoever took them was using state-of-the-art equipment.

Even so, it was Kate’s fault that she put herself in this position, Donald Trump says in a recent interview cited by Hollywood Life.

Not only is she responsible for the mess she’s now finding herself in, but The Donald is actually shocked she would be so “stupid” as to think she could get away with it in the first place.

“Kate Middleton is great – but she shouldn’t be sunbathing in the nude – only herself to blame,” the real estate mogul / television personality says.

You can’t blame the paparazzi for snapping the pictures and, afterwards, for looking to sell them to the highest bidder.

“Who wouldn’t take Kate’s picture and make lots of money if she does the nude sunbathing thing. Come on Kate!” he laughs.

“While we’re all fans of Kate, can you imagine why she would ever be out in the nude? Why would she be standing in the nude in a swimming pool or wherever she was. She’s Kate,” Trump goes on to explain.

“It’s terrible what they did, it’s terrible to take pictures, but boy, how can you do a thing so stupid?” he asks.

The Royal couple have already taken legal action against the magazine that ran the pictures, as well as against the paparazzi who took them, claiming violation of privacy. They’ve already recorded the first victory in the French court.
