Royal tries to make fun of the generalizations in the press about Duchess’ condition

Prince William does have a sense of humor and it appears it came out at a recent charity gala, where he attended alone, while the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is still recovering from the recent hospitalization.

The Duchess, now pregnant with the couple’s first child, is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, an acute form of morning sickness which can be, in some cases, debilitating.

Asked how she was feeling, Prince William joked that calling it morning sickness isn’t exactly accurate, The Mirror informs.

“I don’t know why they call it morning sickness – they should call it all day and all night sickness,” he said.

On a more serious note, the Duke added that Kate was on the mend but not quite there yet.

“It’s a long old process but she is getting there. She feels like it is going to go on forever,” he added.

As we also informed you at the time, Kate was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital with dehydration because of her condition, which is said to affect about 2 percent of all pregnant women.

She was kept under observation for a few days but the interest in her health and that of the future royal baby also brought on a personal tragedy, when one nurse at the hospital fell for a radio prank and accidentally revealed confidential information about the patient.

Sadly, the woman took her own life shortly afterwards.

Because women suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum are more likely to give birth to girls or twins, the entire media and the people at home are now speculating which one it will be for Kate.

Some overzealous tabs are already brainstorming for names, with the British ones convinced that Kate is having a girl.

Unconfirmed reports online suggest the Duchess is about 12 weeks into the pregnancy.
