After months of speculation, we now finally have an official date for the second royal baby of Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William. Kensington Palace has released an announcement in which it confirms that in April next year, the royal family is going to get bigger.

Judging by the date of the expected birth, it's now safe to assume that Kate is around 14 weeks pregnant. The couple first announced they were pregnant for a second time back in September, although it had been speculated for some time prior to that that she was with child.

The announcement was only made because Kate was struck down with extreme morning sickness again and the couple was afraid that the newspapers would catch on to it when she would have gone out to get medical attention.

Kate is still suffering from extreme morning sickness but she's feeling better

Heat quotes the official announcement which reads: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in April 2015.” We also find out that Kate continues to suffer from extreme morning sickness, something  that has also affected her in her first pregnancy, that of Prince George.

“There is good news on the horizon however, as “The Duchess of Cambridge continues to be affected by Hyperemisis Gravidarum, but her condition is steadily improving.”

The Duchess has been forced to cancel her latest public appearances due to her illness which is said to cause vomiting and severe dehydration if left untreated. She was expected to return to her public duties beginning with October, but she hasn't been able to recover fully.

Kate has moved into her parents' home, out of the eye of the press

Recently, it was revealed that Kate decided to move into her parents' home, in an effort to get away from Kensington Palace, which is heavily scrutinized by the media and the paparazzi, as well as get some peace and quiet. Her mother Carole is said to be attempting to make her feel better with natural remedies.

The pregnancy of their second baby, widely rumored to be twin girls, according to insider reports, will come just in time for the couple's fourth wedding anniversary. Kate Middleton and Prince William tied the knot in a big ceremony watched by millions around the world on April 29, 2011.

Over the weekend, there was a hug row in the British media, as the Duchess was photographed leaving her doctor's office with her ultrasound in hand. Thinking that it was a severe case of invasion of privacy, no British publication published them, but they ended up in the American media nonetheless.
