The ever-gorgeous and optimistic Kate Hudson is featured on the cover and in the pages of the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine and, among the topics approached, she also talks about her love of fashion and how she could never “afford to buy” any of the designer gowns she usually wears on the red carpet.

Attached to this article is a photo of Kate in a gorgeous metallic gold swimsuit with cut-outs that shows off her absolutely enviable and fit figure: in the interview, the actress also talks about how she loves to train every single day but could still use a bit more discipline to make it a more “organized” affair.

Back on the topic of fashion, Hudson reveals that most of the dresses she wears on red carpet or at all sorts of public events are loaners that designers hand over to her through her people to help them promote their creations.

“People think we own all these dresses, but we borrow them! I can’t afford to buy that stuff,” she says. However, that the clothes and accessories celebrities use are loaners must have been a well-known fact.

It’s only on very rare occasions that stars are allowed to keep the creations they basically model in front of the cameras.

Still, Hudson says she’d never buy them anyways because she has other expenses to consider beforehand.

“There are certain things I splurge on, but it’s very rare, especially when you have two kids and school tuition. I’m not a big high-end fashion shopper. I wish I could but the truth is things are just so expensive. Before Isabel Marant was a million dollars and famous, I used to go to her store in Paris and go crazy, it was so affordable,” she explains.

While she’d probably never even consider buying all those clothes, she does her job and promotes several huge names in the same interview. As any celebrity gossip lover or fashionista must know, Kate is a fan of Balmain, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Prabal Gurung, and Valentino.
