Zach Braff is adding more stars by the day to his Kickstarter-funded indie film “Wish I Was Here,” which he’s written, will direct and star in as lead. The Wrap (via Reuters) confirms that he’s just cast Kate Hudson as his love interest.

Just last week, confirmation came that “Homeland” star Mandy Patinkin had been cast in the role the lead’s father.

Kate will be playing the wife and, according to the report, she was Braff’s number one choice for the part.

“Hudson will play Braff's wife and the mother of his two children. She joins a cast that includes Mandy Patinkinand Josh Gad as Braff's father and brother, respectively, as well as Anna Kendrick, Jim Parsons and Braff's ‘Scrubs’ co-star Donald Faison,” The Wrap says.

“Braff said he ‘fell in love with’ Hudson after seeing her Oscar-nominated portrayal of Penny Lane in Cameron Crowe's ‘Almost Famous,’ and they later became ‘good friends’,” the e-zine adds.

A release date has not been announced yet.
