Kate Hudson has always appreciated her stepfather.
The actress claims that Kurt Russell, the long-term partner of her mom, Goldie Hawn, had a great influence on her.
"(My mother) is absolutely the biggest influence. But my Pa (Russell) is just as big an influence on me as my mother. He's my first real relationship with a man and that's one of the most important things for women - their relationship with their father.
(…) And my relationship with Kurt has been just phenomenal. He's taught me so many things about trust and love and so that's huge for a girl", Hudson declared.
When she decided to marry the WISER TIME rocker and former drug addict on New Year's Eve in 2000, she has feared that Kurt Russell wouldn't approve him, but she was thrilled to see they related very well.
"Oh, he (Russell) loved Chris. They are actually alike, which is weird, but on totally different spectrums. (…) They are both actually quite rebellious. They're great together and so they have a really nice respect for one another", the actress revealed.
"Sometimes I'll go on the stage because I've always been such a big fan. I don't know, I guess I'm just kind of like a traveling fan", Hudson told Britain's OK magazine.
Meanwhile, the actress is said to compete against
Lindsay Lohan and Jennifer Garner for the lead role in the upcoming movie adaptation of a hit 1960-70's comedy series, I Dream Of Jeannie, which starred Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman.
The movie tells the story of an astronaut [Nelson], who discovers a mysterious bottle containing a beautiful female genie when his spacecraft makes an emergency landing on a desert island.
Eager to have him as her new master, she stows herself away and is taken back to Florida, where she causes the astronaut, and NASA in general, all sorts of trouble in a range of comic dilemmas.
