Kate Hudson Gets a Digital Boob Job

- Apparently, they're all the rage these days

By: Monica Gaza, Entertainment News Editor

If you had any doubts about the fact that we live in an age in which the human body is seen by many as nothing but a starting point for putting various enhancements into practice, wonder no more – for you are absolutely right. This is particularly evident in the world of celebrities, most of which would literally sell their souls to the devil for younger-looking, perfect skin, a flatter abdomen or more alluring boobs.
We can't generalize, of course, but it's also true that most of the times, it's the outer perspective that makes all the difference: what others think about a celebrity's appearance is often a much more powerful motivator for change than that celebrity's personal perception.

Various segments of the audience have, of course, various standards, perceptions and expectations, which is why many actors for instance choose to modify their appearance when playing a specific part, or agree to have their appearance altered in order to increase their degree of (potential) attractiveness. Take a famous (by now) example – that of notoriously flat-chested actress Keira Knightley, whose boobs were digitally enhanced on the poster for "King Arthur" in order to make her bust look fuller, more alluring to the American audience. It would seem that actress Kate Hudson is going the same route: on the poster for her new movie "Fool's Gold" (in which she stars alongside hunky Matthew McConaughey), Kate's breasts are noticeably larger than in real life.

While I think this particular brand of breast enhancement has at least the advantage of not involving real-life surgery, I do find it extremely strange. Why am I saying that? Well, because in this age of instant communication and social software, it's hard to imagine that people will not ultimately see other photos of a particular actress and realize they have been duped. What's the point of enhancing Kate Hudson's cleavage if in the end, we all know that she's got small boobs – which, by the way, is in no way a defect, at least as far as I'm concerned. But in the end, actors need to give whatever the public is demanding. If big boobs are in demand, don't worry – with a little skill, a computer and a little patience, anyone can get them. So, any size and shape preferences?
