Two of the best-known women in showbiz right now, as well as among the most controversial, will be joining forces on television for a reality show, Entertainment Weekly confirms. Kate Gosselin and her 8 children will be making an appearance on Sarah Palin’s upcoming reality show – just for one episode, but that’s not to say that it will not make for an interesting watch.

A while back, rumors started to make the rounds that Mrs. Gosselin had gone camping with Palin and her family, a rumor that seemed quite absurd, to put it mildly. There was no record of the two meeting before that, let alone that they were on such good terms as to go holidaying together – not to mention camping. As it turns out, it could be that the camping trip was not for pleasure but rather for business purposes, as the entire experience was shot and will be shown on Palin’s reality series.

“The latest news out of TCA proves that worlds will be colliding this fall: TLC president Eileen O’Neill confirmed that Kate Gosselin and her brood will make a guest appearance on Sarah Palin’s reality series Sarah Palin’s Alaska that’s set to premiere on Nov. 14. The Gosselins will visit the Palins in Alaska, and, apparently, camping will be involved. (Will they see wildlife I wonder? Maybe… a mama grizzly?) How are you feeling about this mingling of politics and reality TV? And even if you don’t care for either woman, are you still going to find tuning in irresistible?” EW asks.

On a related note, the National Enquirer (story via here) is saying in its latest print issue that the camping trip turned into a disaster because of Kate’s diva attitude. Admittedly, she got so insufferable at one point (Mrs. Gosselin does have a reputation of being quite a diva) that she got into a fight with Palin. She had a mini breakdown, decided she was too good for camping, packed all her stuff and left, even if the former Gov. of Alaska tried to reason with her and get her to stay for longer.

“They handed her a bucket with a toilet seat on top. Kate said, ‘What the hell am I going to do with this!’ Then she burst into tears and started moaning that she wanted to leave. When it was time to eat, Kate opened the cooler prepared for her and the children and threw another fit when she saw prepackaged mini meals. There were tiny pieces of cheese and processed meats along with crackers and a few condiments. She said ‘My kids can’t eat this crap, they need a real meal! Then she started griping - in front of Sarah - that the ex-governor’s food was better than hers. Sarah’s meal was grilled hamburgers and hotdogs!” a well placed source says for the tab.

If the above did actually happen, it will most certainly be featured on the episode of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska.”
