As per her own admission, Kate Gosselin has fallen on hard times since her TLC reality series was canceled after disappointing ratings. These days, she’s all about making ends meet but, according to her ex-husband Jon Gosselin, she’s yet to lose hope of landing another TV gig.

Some time after Kate Plus 8 (previously known as Jon & Kate Plus 8, when the two were still married) was canceled, rumors had it that she was trying to get another reality series with other networks but no one was interested anymore because viewers at home had already made up their minds about her, deeming her too “evil” to support by watching.

Word had it that Kate begged and entreated but, in the end, she accepted defeat and resigned herself to the idea that she would never be big on TV. Something must have changed because Jon is now telling InTouch that she’s thinking she could get another reality series.

For the record, he is very much against the idea.

“She uses [the children] as her props. It’s a problem for her that she can’t afford our old lifestyle anymore. I think she wants a show on TV again – I consider that exploitation. It’s so unfair to them,” Jon lashes out.

From the start he was opposed to the idea of having the kids so exposed in the press but he never really had a say in it, until the divorce, which is when he put his foot down. Unfortunately, also then, he was cut from the show and then, more or less, the kids’ life.

“I work really hard to keep my kids safe and then she just goes and tweets about them all the time. I don’t have a Twitter [account] anymore and even when I did, I never tweeted about my kids. I kept their lives private,” he says.

“I don’t think being on TV is good for kids. A lot of them do not want to film and they come to me and tell me that. It’s upsetting and I think it’s embarrassing for them. They are enjoying having an ordinary childhood. They shy away from cameras and I don’t think that is normal,” Jon continues.

It would be too much of a coincidence not to be true, but the latest issue of People magazine brings an interview with Kate and Jon’s eldest, twins Cara and Mady, who throw their daddy under the bus and deny they’re in any way messed up or “damaged.”
