Some time ago, there were several, very damaging reports in the media about Kate Gosselin, thanks to a book called “Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World” by Rob Hoffman, which never saw the light of day because she sued to block it.

The former reality star and mom of eight is now suing her ex-husband for providing the author with material for said book, which she says was obtained illegally.

TMZ has learned that Kate has filed papers against Jon, who she believes hacked into her computer and stole all her private information, including emails and other documents.

All this material was “illegally obtained,” Kate says.

“Kate claims the book has since been removed from major distributors like Amazon as a result of its nefarious origins, but the real dirt is Kate's allegations against her ex,” TMZ reports.

“Kate says Jon stopped at nothing to dig the skeletons out of her closet – funneling Rob personal information after hacking into Kate's email accounts, and stealing her confidential bank and phone records – even pilfering her hard drive right out of her personal computer,” the report further notes.

Given the gross violation of privacy and how it was used to sully her image, Kate is asking for unspecified damages, which, TMZ says, could amount to millions.

In the court documents, she’s accusing Jon of “invasion of privacy, identity theft, and a bunch of other stuff.”

Fans of TLC’s now-defunct “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which later became just “Kate Plus 8,” know that their divorce was anything but amicable.

Jon and Kate announced it on their reality show and went on to fight in court and in the media. Ultimately, Jon tried to block her reality show from airing, saying their kids should no longer be exposed on TV because they’d been through enough.

A judge disagreed with him.
