Kate Gosselin is putting her training to good use: just recently, the reality star mom of 8, took part in her first marathon ever, the Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon, to teach her kids a lesson on determination. Mrs. Gosselin has been a runner for about 3 years, but running the marathon still cost her a lot of effort.
She trained for it running even on below freezing temperatures because, as she told
People magazine before the big event, she wanted to teach her 8 adorable children how you can achieve anything you set your mind to, if you really want to.
“I'm not one to do anything lightly. I either do it or I kill it. I guess this is considered killing it,” she said for the celebrity publication.
“I'm running this because I want to show that with dedication and determination anything is possible,” the former TLC reality star explained.
However, by taking part in the marathon, she also tried to send the message to her children that coming out first is not what is always important.
She did so by wearing a shirt with “Finishing is Winning” imprinted on the front, as the photo attached to this article can confirm.
“I want them to remember this moment when their mom completed a marathon, knowing that nothing in life should stop them from attaining their goals,” Mrs. Gosselin further told People.
“This will probably be one of the most painful messages I will ever impart to them,” she added with a smile.
Somehow, before the marathon, Kate also found some time to go on Twitter to keep her 60,000+ fans up to speed with everything in her life,
Radar Online informs.
“Eating lunch… Tiny blueberry scone, apple bran muffin and mac&cheese. Hoping for fuel from these fine carby foods! :),” she wrote, before adding, “kids are having a marathon party at home while I’m actually running it.”
