On the latest Oprah segment, Jon Gosselin, former reality star turned waiter, said that he believed his 8 children with his ex-wife Kate Gosselin had “developmental” problems because they’d been exposed to fame through the family’s now-defunct TLC reality series. As expected, Kate is already fighting back.

It’s no secret that the two don’t see eye to eye, and Jon didn’t even have to go on the record saying that they have “no contact” for the world to know that. Neither was it surprising to hear him say that the kids didn’t grow up to have a normal childhood because, after all, he’s said it before – right after the divorce from Kate, when he was nixed from the “Jon and Kate Plus 8” series.

As unsurprising as his recent revelations on the Oprah interview were, Kate still thinks it’s best to set the record straight: and she starts by denying that her and Jon’s 8 kids aren’t perfectly adjusted, well raised little human beings.

In a post on her personal blog, Kate also laments the fact that Jon had to go on a public forum to speak ill of his children, not even bothering to think how that might impact them later in life, when they grow up and read about his comments.

He has no right and, for that matter, no reason to say these things, Kate argues: Jon is not qualified to make this kind of evaluation and, to boot, he doesn’t even spend that much time with the kids to be able to make it, even if he were qualified for it.

“Because he has spoken negatively about our children, I feel I owe it to them to respond on their behalf. Each and every one of our children has met and continues to exceed all physical, mental and emotional developmental milestones throughout their lives. Their normal development is regularly monitored by myself, their pediatrician and school staff, as is usual within any family,” Kate writes.

“It is also very normal in a family, especially a large family, to have a full range of personalities, abilities, talents, hobbies and struggles. Ours is no different. However, anyone who has personally met our children all have the same thing to say: they are the most normal, pleasant, polite, loving and well adjusted children they have ever met,” the former reality star continues.

She will not let her kids speak up for themselves yet so, at the risk of causing a media frenzy by antagonizing Jon publicly, she is doing that for them, she explains.

As of now, Jon is yet to respond.
