It's been a while since Kate Gosselin and her 8 adorable kids got the boot from TLC – and just as much time since she hasn't done any TV work. That may very well change very soon, as she's in talks for her own dating reality show.
Some time ago, while she was promoting what turned out to be the last season of “Kate Plus 8,” the original Octomom, as she's been dubbed in the press, complained about how she might have to date Superman because no other man seemed to be
interested in her, especially considering she came with “baggage.”
Since then, there has been a lot of speculation on the chances of getting
her own dating reality show. As it turns out, it's happening,
E! News reports, citing reliable sources familiar with the situation.
“The divorced mother of eight has signed up to do a dating show and is in the process of looking for a network to televise her quest for love, E! News has exclusively learned,” the e-zine writes.
Until her show was axed, Kate was TLC “property,” this being the network that launched her (and her ex-husband too) and put her on the map.
It wouldn't be that far-fetched to assume E! too might be interested in such a project: Kate might have slipped under the radar for a while but chances are people will still tune in to see her, especially if it's a dating show we're talking about.
“She is ready to get back into the dating game. She is ready to find love again and to move on from her past. She's excited, this is a chance to start something new,” says an unnamed insider.
Part of the reason she agreed to do the show is that she can't really date in real life because being a single working mom occupies most of her time.
With a dating reality series, she would basically be killing two birds with one stone: get back into the spotlight and (hopefully) meet the man of her dreams.
“She finds it hard to meet men in her day to day life and so a dating show will give her exactly the help she needs. She is willing to travel around the country in order to meet Mr. Right,” the insider explains.
“She looks fantastic and she's in a really great space. She's in fantastic shape because of all her marathon training, this feels like the right time for her,” adds the source.
