Kate Gosselin, former star of TLC’s reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” currently still America’s darling if public interest is any indication to that, started the new year with a changed look. She traded her spiky ‘do for long, blonder extensions that would have cost her a whopping $7,000, and has professed feeling like a new woman. The problem is, Us Magazine writes, Mrs. Gosselin hates her new hair.

In fact, she hates it so much she doesn’t even know what to do with it. Insiders speaking to the tab say she feels bad with the extensions on because she’s under the impression they make her look like one of Tiger Woods’ mistresses. As a side note, recent developments in the golfer’s personal life have unveiled an obsession of sorts with women with blonde locks. At the moment, Kate is at a loss, tipsters claim because she’d like her old hair back.

“Hair today, tears tomorrow? Kate Gosselin, 34, marked the new year by trading in her signature spiky bob for long, blonde locks in a process that took 20 hours of work and would normally cost $7,000 (hers was comped). Just one problem: ‘She hates it!’ a source tells the new issue of Us Weekly. ‘She thinks her hair looks overprocessed and damaged,’ adds the insider. ‘She’s afraid people will think she’s one of Tiger Woods’ bimbos!’ (In an online video posted Jan. 10, Gosselin looks in the mirror and says, ‘Oh, Lord have mercy... it’s weird.)” the aforementioned magazine writes.

Kate is not alone in hating the new ‘do either, the report goes on to say, since the kids too have expressed their belief their mommy was cuter with her own short hair. However, for the time being, Mrs. Gosselin will try to make the new look work. Should all her attempts fail (she’s already summoned a stylist to offer her advice, it is being said), she will then consider having short hair again by taking the extensions out.

“But not all hope is lost. On Jan. 8, Gosselin had a stylist visit her Pennsylvania home to coach her on how to care for her new look. ‘Kate has been trying different things, from headbands to ponytails to a Farrah Fawcett–style ‘do. She’s just not sure what she wants’,” the same mag goes on to claim.
