Kate Gosselin is coming back to TV and don’t imagine for a second that she’s doing it on the cheap. Even though there’s been no interest in getting her another reality show on all the other networks and despite the negative media attention she’s been receiving for years now, she can still command a hefty check. From TLC only.

The network announced a new special for later this year, and now, insiders reveal for Radar Online that she will be making a fortune for it, even if it doesn’t get renewed for a second season.

That’s because Kate will be paid a whopping $40,000 (€30,206) for each episode of the series. Even assuming the first season doesn’t do well in the ratings and a second one never sees the light of day, Kate is still winning big time.

Then again, it’s not like she had that many options available to earn money, says a spy.

“Kate couldn’t turn it down. She loves doing TV and it’s basically her only source of income. The twins will be going off to college in five years and then she has six more to put through, so she desperately needs these TLC specials,” the insider explains.

This summer, TLC aired a 2-part special with Kate and her 8 kids with ex-husband Jon Gosselin, meant to help former fans of “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” later known just as “Kate Plus 8,” see what she’s been up to since out of the spotlight.

The special failed to bring in the big ratings but, apparently, TLC is convinced that people still want to see Kate on the small screen, considering they gave her another show – and a huge paycheck for each and every one of its episodes.
