Kate Gosselin, the star of the once popular, now defunct “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” has been confirmed as one of the contestants on the latest season of Dancing With the Stars, which also happens to be the show’s tenth. The day her involvement was confirmed by ABC, the star put in an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel to talk about the contest, her odds of winning it and how she could get “like, a million votes” if she had her children vote for her.

As the New York Daily News can also confirm – and the video at the end of this article will illustrate – Kate handled herself very gracefully on Kimmel, including when he tried to put words in her mouth and start trouble by telling her (as a joke) she should be upset to go against professional dancers like Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls. Towards the end of the interview, after Kate said she was determined to win because she was “very competitive,” Kimmel also offered her some tips on how to get the public to vote for her.

These tips included, among other things, getting one kid on each episode of the show and pretend they’re sick, to move the judges and the people at home, and convince them to vote for her, or showing off a missing tooth and saying she doesn’t have the money to go to the dentist to fix their cavities. To this, Kate responded with bouts of laughter but, to her credit, she also stressed that she was the kind of person that liked to win fairly and not by using such cheap tactics.

“Kate Gosselin vows she’ll win Dancing With the Stars even though she ‘can’t dance.’ ‘I am gonna win,’ she said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday, the same night she was announced as one of the stars of the series’ 10th season, premiering March 22nd. When Kimmel asked Gosselin if she was competitive, the ‘Jon and Kate Plus 8’ star replied, ‘Have you watched my show?’ She said she expected her biggest competitors on the dance show to be Pamela Anderson, and Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls,” the NY Daily News writes.

“Gosselin may have a leg up on the competition though when it comes to a fan base. She’s got eight kids eager to phone in for her. ‘[My daughter] Mady asked if she can vote for me,’ Gosselin told Kimmel. ‘I said, Yes, please do.’ She also told her other kids to vote. Her dance partner on the show, Tony Dovolani, will travel to her Pennsylvania home to help her dance in her basement while the kids are home. When they’re at school Gosselin, 34, plans to practice at a local studio,” the publication further informs.

According to Kate, while she’s on DWTS, she will be doing her best to be at home for as long as possible, which is why she’s already made plans to have the basement in her home transformed into a room where she can practice. Below is Mrs. Gosselin on Jimmy Kimmel. Enjoy.
