14 DAY TRIAL // People are oddly fascinated by Kate Gosselin’s hair, so much so that her punk-like hairdo has become the stuff legends are made of, with several comedians including it in their sketches and wigs already being available for Halloween and costume parties. In a move that surprised the entire showbiz world, Kate has just debuted a new, curlier ‘do on the latest episode of The View, as LA Times Blogs can also confirm.
Instead of the flat, longer lock of hair on the side, Mrs. Gosselin donned curlier locks on The View, thus reaping praises from anyone from the members of the audience to her co-hosts. Barbara Walters, for one, was completely taken aback by the change, telling Kate she looked as “cute” as a button and ever so classy. Mrs. Gosselin, on the other hand, credited the makeup and styling team on the show for the change, as it was them who wanted to try something “different,” she said.
“Today, when she emerged on to the set of The View as guest host with a slightly new coif, everyone took notice. Anything would have been an improvement from the hair flap/bang thing that hung over her one eye, but whatever the backstage hair team did makes all her layers flow together so they actually look like they belong on one head. A colleague made the keen observation that Gosselin was even channeling Katherine Heigl a bit with her old Hollywood hairdo.” the LA Times writes of the much-welcome change.
Despite her claim that it was the styling team who came up with the idea for the new ‘do, several reports in the media believe Kate too might have had a hand in it. The Project Runaway winner, Christian Siriano, called out Kate Gosselin, saying she was practically ripping him off on the hairdo and urging her to up her game because he had already done the “possum head,” as the ‘do is sometimes derogatorily dubbed in the media.
“Is she trying to rock my look? Oh my god. It’s cute. It’s fun! I understand, personally, it is a lot of look, but you know what is so funny is I know so many women who are literally obsessed with that hairstyle. It’s crazy because if she was a real person, which at this point, now she is not, then I think it is a cool, cute look. If she really was an everyday mom, I think I’d be like, ‘Oh lady, look at you, you look fabulous!’ Now she needs to up her game.” Siriano was saying the other day.
