Just yesterday, we were telling you that reports online were starting to gain momentum that Kate Gosselin, the reality mom also dubbed the “original OctoMom,” looked like she’d gotten a bit too much Botox. Us Magazine, true to form, has contacted a handful of plastic surgeons and beauticians to get the scoop on what Mrs. Gosselin may have done to her face to look so surprised – and we’re talking a botched Botox job.

A fresh batch of pictures show Kate running errands and looking considerably more wrinkle-free, but also more surprised than ever before, as we also noted the other day. The tell-tale signs that she’s had Botox and whoever injected her with it did a very poor job in the Arch of the eyebrows (which is now higher up than before) and in her waxen, frozen expression, the mag’s specialists (who did not treat and are not even acquainted with Kate) dish.

“She looked much better in the earlier photo: great hair, nice smile and a normal brow position,” Dr. Michael Olding, chief of The George Washington University’s division of plastic surgery, tells Us Magazine. “[In the ‘after’ photo, she] has the typical appearance of Dysport or Botox poorly placed in the space between the brows where frown lines occur. The lateral part of her brow is elevated in an abnormally high position, which my patients refer to as McDonald’s arches!” the same surgeon explains.

Dr. Steven Pearlman from NYC agrees that the shape of the brows alone is enough to tell that Kate has had Botox. “The center of her eyebrows are dropped and spread, which can happen from Botox treatment of the forehead frown lines,” he says. He adds that the poison was probably injected in a V shape, which means the muscles near the temples have not been affected, “so they overact, giving this Jack Nicholson type of look! Her upper eyelids look a little hollow, which can be as a result of the brows being pulled upward,” Pearlman says.

Other specialists too agree that Kate’s face is one of a woman who’s had a very bad run with Botox. According to another, Dr. Tony Youn, the solution is simple: either she gets more Botox injected in the area above the eyebrows to make them droop a bit, or she waits until the substance wears off, which means a few more months of the “surprised face.”
