Kate Fills in for Sarah Jessica Parker in 'Vacancy'

The British actress to star in the motel thriller

'Vacancy' is meant to come off as a sadistic, mind twisting thriller and maybe the 'Sex and the City' star Sarah Jessica Parker was not the right choice to start with. With no reasons given for the sudden change, her replacement was found in the sexy British actress, Kate Beckinsale, who already accepted the offer.

The Nimrod Antal-directed flick revolves around a young married couple that becomes isolated in a hotel. Only hours after they check in, the two lovers discover hidden cameras placed all around their room and realize that there is no escape in sight for them: they are being filmed as the next victims of a snuff movie.

Luke Wilson will keep his part as one of the main characters but, still, this will certainly prove to be a real challenge for him, as he has built his entire reputation on comedy roles. The villain - the master-mind behind the snuff movies - will be played by Frank Whaley, the newest change made to the cast of 'Vacancy'.

imdb.com informs that the thriller is currently in pre-production, with filming being scheduled to start this fall. It will be released by Screen Gems, which means that Beckinsale will work again with the same people that she met on set of the smashing hit 'Underworld'.
