Kate Bosworth is an actress who - despite her considerable talent and successful roles in a series of very good movies, has kept herself pretty much out of the public eye. But for those of you who still remember it, she did get quite a lot of (mainly bad) press a couple of years ago, when she became one of the very first Hollywood actresses to be criticized for being too skinny and losing a lot of weight. Or maybe it was the on again / off again relationship with Orlando Bloom that made Kate weary of the public eye, the fact is this lovely lady has been keeping herself to herself as far as her life outside her acting career is concerned.
But no more. Kate has officially become the new face of Calvin Klein Jeans, and has already shot a series of racy ads that will take her modeling career to a global level.
Before I tell you more about Kate's involvement with CK, it has to be said that the campaign marks a return to classic "clean, pure" CK - or so they say - which means the ads are pretty classic and have a vintage feel to them, not to mention the added bonus of offering us a close-up of Kate's hot sexy body.
And yes, she seems to have just the build for a jeans advertisement. She is thin and lean but no longer alarmingly skinny, classy and radiating an intensity that will no doubt go to the heart of the CK fanatics - and not only.
"It's funny, I definitely feel much more uncomfortable modeling because it's not something I know how to do" Kate is quoted as commenting. "When I act, I'm not aware of the camera; I'm just there with the actor in that moment. As a model, you're very aware of the camera. What I enjoyed most about doing this campaign was finding and becoming a certain character. I think working with people like David Sims [photographer] and Karl Templer [stylist], who want to find and shape that character, instead of simply capturing a pretty picture, is really exciting. So, this campaign was a little bit like an acting job in that way". We can enjoy a preview of the ads while looking forward to seeing the rest of Kate's ads.
