14 DAY TRIAL // A short while before she and Jesse James called off the engagement and broke up, Kat Von D got a giant tattoo of her then-fiancé on her ribcage. Even though they’re no longer together, Kat has no intention of having the ink lasered off.
As we also noted the other day, on the season premiere of her reality show “LA Ink,” Kat presents Jesse with a surprise present: a tattoo of his fifth grade picture on her ribcage.
The episode in question aired just days after the two announced they’d called off the wedding and had broken up, so no one could have blamed Kat if she chose to get rid of it as soon as possible.
Still, she’s keeping it, she tells TMZ. Even though she’s no longer with Jesse, he will be a part of her life for ever, so there’s really no point in trying to laser off the ink.
“Kat Von D lives her life with ‘no regrets’ – which is exactly why she’s NOT removing a big tattoo of Jesse James’ face from her ribcage, despite the end of their relationship,” the e-zine writes.
The meaning of the tattoo goes beyond their relationship, the tattoo artist explains for the same media outlet.
“I love my tattoo. It’s more than just a portrait, it has a lot of meaning,” she says.
This would also explain why Kat has another tattoo of an ex on her body.
Nevertheless, while Kat is open to keeping the tatt, she’s not yet ready to have the breakup mentioned that often, as she proved just recently, when she stormed out of an interview because the host mentioned the breakup in the intro.
Von D was supposed to make an appearance on “Good Day LA” to promote the reality show, but she got up and walked out right before she was supposed to go on air because the host disregarded her request of not mentioning the split in the intro, as we also informed you.
