Kat Von D is single again. The celebrity tattoo artist, fashion designer and television personality has split from Deadmau5 (real name Joel Zimmerman) after a little over two months of dating. Both have confirmed the breakup on their Twitter feeds.

The couple, dubbed “Kat and Mau5,” were first seen in public as such in September, when their romance was confirmed.

Less than one month later, Deadmau5 was already calling Kat “the love of my life,” so things turned serious very fast – too fast, if you believe what the DJ has been writing on his Twitter.

“Going to spend a little while screwing my head back on. I guess I’m not cut out for relationships right now. I’ll figure it out. No hard feelings,” he said.

“It happened too fast, I lost my balance and fell into a familiar dark place that I’m having difficulty with. She deserves someone stronger,” the DJ added.

While he may have no “hard feelings,” Kat is certainly feeling a tinge of regret, as her own tweets seem to indicate.

She said she’d given the relationship all she had to give but, at the end of the day, it simply proved not enough.

“Man. Can’t say I didn’t give it my best. Man, I sure was wrong. But at least he made it a no-brainer to break that off. #lessonlearned,” Kat wrote.

“Now, we can get all of the ‘I told you so’s’ outta the way... And move on. Clarification: Deadmau5 and I are no longer together,” she added.

Before dating the DJ, Kat Von D was involved in a very serious relationship with Jesse James, right after his divorce from Sandra Bullock.

The two were engaged to be married but, after a series of breakups and reconciliations, eventually called it quits shortly before the wedding. The breakup wasn’t really amicable.
