14 DAY TRIAL // “I am honored she said ‘Yes’,” Jesse James tells People magazine of his engagement to celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D. In the same statement, James says that, despite his divorce from Sandra Bullock, 2010 was actually the best year of his life.
Talk of an engagement with these two stars has been around for many months – interspersed with rumors about a breakup, which both went out of their way to deny immediately as they emerged.
Before the 2011 Golden Globes, Jesse and Kat put in an appearance at a charity event and she wore a silver and diamond ring that looked an awfully lot like an engagement one.
Now, Jesse is confirming the happy news for People, saying this moment actually makes it worth everything bad that happened to him for the past year.
“You know sometimes the public and press gets it wrong. This is one of those times. 2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love with my best friend. An amazing woman who stood behind me when the world turned their backs,” James says for the magazine.
“I have never met anyone so kind and loving and committed to making the world a better place every day. My love for her is beyond description. So honored that she said ‘yes.’ Growing old with her is going to be a [expletive]-ing blast!” he adds.
The mag also got a hold of Kat, who is, of course, equally happy to confirm the news. There still are some issues to see to, like living arrangements, but all that matters now is that they’re in love and about to get married, she says.
“There is no one else for me. He’s the one,” she gushes.
As for the question of whether she will leave LA to move to Austin, Texas, “if only it were that easy,” Kat says.
“Having two places we call home will be good for now. In the end, home is where the heart is, and my heart’s with him,” she adds.
So far, no wedding date has been announced.
