The Chosen Child: a new Dream Chronicle hidden object game

The Dream Chronicles series has returned yet once again with a new and even more challenging puzzle game, Dream Chronicles: The Chosen Child. If you have tried the first two releases, then you already know that the story revolves around the magical world of pixies. In this game, both reality and fantasy intertwine, creating a fictional world where you get to solve lost pixie puzzles and mysteries and at the same time search for your daughter, who has been kidnapped.

The story revolves around the kidnapping of Fayes’ daughter by Lilith. As you struggle to remember your long lost and forgotten fairy past, you come across various puzzles and get to find answers to questions regarding your past. At first, you are being led to a portal that takes you to another place and from there, you get to travel to various locations in search for your daughter.

Within the game, you will get to solve a multitude of puzzles, from searching for a required item to creating magical potions and jewelry, to pattern recognition and even word games. The Chosen Child impresses exactly by the use of a wide range of puzzle types that you will need to solve in order to escape each scenario. Every location that you encounter has its own twists and sometimes you might be required to go back to a previous setting in order to search for the clues you need.

As for the background and detail level, all I can honestly say is that you will be impressed by the attention to details. Certain elements, such as a burning fire, will seem almost real, thus giving the game an even more addicting touch. While playing, you will lose track of time and often find yourself staring countless minutes at an image so that you can solve a small puzzle.

On a comparison note with the two previous Dream Chronicles, I would have to say that it is not too different. Apart from the improved graphics and new puzzles, the basic principle remains the same: hidden object combined with a puzzle game. This winning combination served Kat Games well in the past and I guess it can still be exploited as long as people love this brand.

Considering that the game is still being released as a demo with limited gameplay, I think that you should really give it a try. Regardless of your age, you will find yourself astonished by a world where magic is still possible. For the small price of 19.95 dollars, you will be able to unlock the full feature list of the game and enjoy unlimited playtime.
