
Kaspersky has announced the immediate availability of its new Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.5 for Check PointT FireWall-1 designed to deliver antivirus protection for the HTTP, FTP and SMTP traffic. Kaspersky
has praised the solution as a source of high performance and advanced stability that delivers support for a variety of hardware platforms. "The solution integrates with Check Point Firewall-1 using the CVP protocol, operating as a CVP server (based on OPSEC specifications). Moreover, it is compatible with the family of Microsoft Windows operating systems, and is fully optimized to meet the demands of large organizations that have heavy volumes of traffic," revealed Kaspersky.
Kaspersky has introduced a plethora of new features in the Anti-Virus 5.5 that is based on the company's anti-virus engine, starting with the malware database collections and finishing with administrative protective control. The anti-viral solution also provides backup storage. "Before an infected object is processed (such as treatment, deletion or renaming), a backup copy is saved to a special folder. In the event that data is lost, it can be easily restored using the backup copy. User filters can be created, which make it easier to locate data," stated Kaspersky.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.5 for Check PointT FireWall-1 integrates AMON and ELA protocol support while providing optimization and scalability options castellated to processing performance and allowing for multiple copies of the anti-virus engine to function simultaneously.
