The latest tests, conducted by AV-Comparatives.org, awarded Kaspersky Antivirus 7.0 and ESET Nod32 Antivirus with the highest certification level, Advanced+. This means that the security solutions have the most efficient functions, when it comes to detection of new threats bundled with a minimum percentage of false alarms. Obviously, the Kaspersky Lab officials were overjoyed with the results, even if it was already known that Kaspersky had some of the best security solutions on the market.

"Kaspersky Lab developed and introduced a new heuristic analyzer in it's version 7.0 home user products in the summer of this year. In June 2007 this new module first participated in AV-Comparatives' testing and immediately received the Advanced+ certificate. This is a long-awaited and very significant assessment of Kaspersky Lab?s work", says Deputy Director of the Innovation Technologies Nikolay Grebennikov, according to a public statement published on the main page of "Kaspersky Lab".

Kaspersky Antivirus has always been one of the top technologies on this side of the software industry, being installed and used by millions of consumers from all over the world. For example, Kaspersky Antivirus Personal has no less than 602,641 downloads on Softpedia, a fact that underlines the popularity and the efficiency of the antivirus.

"New malicious programs and viruses appear every day and it is evident that antivirus database updates, even hourly, are not enough to provide users with reliable protection from possible Internet threats. There is always a time 'gap' between the appearance of a new threat and the release of an update. So to provide effective antivirus protection it is important to effectively detect new threats", the head of the AV-Comparatives lab Andreas Clementy mentioned in the same statement published on the Kaspersky website.
